In London, 1865, our founder and first General, William Booth, realized that standing behind a pulpit was not going to help as many people as he could. So instead he began offering help to the downtrodden on the streets...The Salvation Army was born.
The Salvation came to America ten years later, and then to the Quad Cities in 1892, becoming a beacon of hope for the homeless, hungry, needy and forgotten.
