Volunteers Activity
The Salvation Army continues to count its blessings for the many volunteers that support its mission during the Christmas Season and throughout the whole year.
The following volunteer statistics include volunteer hours at the kettles (Christmas in July as well as Christmas) and during the Christmas distribution process, time given to assist with office tasks, time spent on the canteen by Emergency Disaster Service volunteers and time given by members of the Advisory Board.
In Fiscal Year 2010-2011, 423 individuals or groups volunteered 6,074 hours - a savings of almost $130,000.
During the 2011 Christmas Season (late October 2011 through December 2011), 339 individuals or groups volunteered 6,025 hours - a savings of $128,694.00.
More than 175 seasonal workers were employed to help staff the Red Kettles during the seven week campaign in 2011.
Volunteer hours are calculated at $21.36 per Independent Sector.
