T-Mobile Huddle Up is an urban outreach program designed to support the critical need for quality after-school programs by creating safe, fun places for kids to go after school. The Springfield corps was one of 18 sites chosen nationwide in high-need, urban communities.
“The need is great in the community for support of our youth, and these partnerships along with the volunteerism help address those needs in a tremendous way,” said corps officer Norman Grainger. The corps offers a wealth of fun, educational programs that cater to local youth who would not otherwise have access to such resources. The Huddle-Up renovations have undoubtedly enhanced the space but will also enhance the mission of the Army in its after-school programs.
