What is ReFuel?
Corps are looking for strong leadership, but often the demands of the balancing faith, family and careers leave the leaders and teachers of our children and youth running on empty. ReFuel is a Salvation Army conference designed to help train and equip youth leaders to reach out to young people with the Gospel. Here you will find experts in all areas of Salvation Army Youth ministry who will offer new perspectives and strategies for building up your youth programs. You won't want to miss it!
When is ReFuel?
ReFuel will be held the weekend of January 29-31, 2010. If you want to go deeper, there will even be pre-con classes where you can take on extra fuel!
Where is it going to take place?
It will take place at Wonderland Camp and Conference Center, in Camp Lake, Wisconsin. It may be cold, so bring your hat and mittens. We’ll keep the coffee hot.
Who are the special guests?
Majors Donna and Kelly Igleheart are the Territorial Youth Secretaries in the Southern Territory. Commissioned in the Southern Territory with the Followers of Jesus Session, their first appointment was the Louisville South Corps in Kentucky where they served for five years. In 1997 they were appointed to the command in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Both corps appointments included the ministry of Boys & Girls Clubs, as well as traditional Salvation Army and non-traditional youth programs.
In 2002, the Iglehearts were appointed as Divisional Youth Leaders in the National Capital and Virginia Division. After serving for three years in the youth department, the Iglehearts served as General Secretary and Secretary for Women's Ministry which included responsibility for operations in Washington, DC. Appointed as the Territorial Youth Leaders in 2006, the Iglehearts have enjoyed an active ministry with youth and youth leaders.
Their experience in working with youth has been tested and proved in the lives of their three beautiful daughters and two wonderful son-in-laws!
Who should attend?
Youth leaders* who are running low on energy or ideas. Sunday school teachers – camp directors – junior soldier leaders – community center workers – corps cadet leaders – YPSMs – youth directors – corps officers – character building leaders – VBS workers – cradle roll workers – day camp leaders – and anyone else thinking they might want to get involved in corps youth programs. Whether you are a brand new leader who is just fueling for the first time or have been around since the dawn of time, there will be something for you.

What is the theme?
The theme is ReFuel. In case you haven’t noticed, there is a real energy crisis among some of the youth programming in our corps. Leaders are tired, running low on energy or just can’t seem to start the engine. Come to this conference expecting to go away refueled with new ideas and passion for God and your personal ministry!
How much will it cost?
Only $75. Only $75, you say? Yes, only $75– IF you register early. That's a really sweet deal, considering it includes: housing; meals; fun; electricity; water; heat; places to sit or stand; and interesting things to see and do for the whole weekend. What a deal!
If you want a chance to store up even more great information and training, sign up for one of our Pre-convention classes on Friday. The cost for the additional sessions is $25 and includes: housing on Thursday evening, along with an opportunity to try out some wild games; breakfast; coffee breaks; lunch; plus four and a half extra hours of training with some of the best leaders in youth worker today.

Can my spouse attend?
Sure! There is a limited amount of housing for married couples, so register early. Sorry, we can not accommodate children at this event.
