Eric Van Cleven
Human Resources Bureau Director
Eric Van Cleven has worked in human resource management for over 20 years. He consults with leadership, officers and employees throughout the Central Territory on various human resource practices and issues. He has held human resource management positions in the manufacturing, health care and human resource consulting sectors. Eric has taught human resource management courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. He has a Bachelor's in Marketing, a Master's in Education, and a Master's in Human Resource Development. He is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) as designated through the Society for Human Resource Management and a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) through WorldatWork. Eric is active in the Humane Society and lives with his two rescue dogs.
Jill Romin
Human Resources Assistant
Jill Romin has worked for The Salvation Army in the field of Human Resources for 13 years. She is responsible for managing all employee information from orientations, through salary and job changes to details on personal information. She is responsible for all benefit enrollment, changes, instruction briefings and benefit deductions. She also enjoys writing a weekly newsletter to keep employees and officers updated on changes at Territorial Headquarters. She is a lifelong Salvationist who is pleased to service God through her position as Human Resources Assistant.
Karen Bremer
Human Resources Specialist
Karen Bremer has worked in human resources for the past 8 years. She is responsible for many HR functions at The Salvation Army Central Territorial Headquarters including FMLA interpretation and administration, Worker's Compensation coordination, Recruitment, Job Evaluation and Job Description Development. Karen began her human resources career in the retail sector where she learned payroll, benefits and other components of human resources. Karen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business from Elmhurst College. Karen loves to travel and spend quality time with her family.
Christine Rosa
Territorial Background Check Coordinator & Website Manager
Christine Rosa has been the Territorial Background Check Coordinator since the background check policy was initiated in the Central Territory in 2004. She has trained HR staff throughout the Central Territory on the policies, procedures and how to use the background check website and job board. Christine graduated from Illinois State University in 2004 with a BA in Fine Arts. When not at THQ reviewing background checks, Christine works in her art studio in Chicago making art and jewelry.
