Dear Friends,

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to look through our first-ever online annual report. As you scroll through the pages, you will see bits and pieces of the story of our service in the Kansas City area during very challenging times. Unfortunately, the number of people in need in our community increased. And their problems grew more severe, all while government resources continue to shrink.

This annual report tells another story, though: the awe-inspiring power of a generous community. More people gave and they gave larger gifts. And over the course of the year people gave more of themselves, volunteering for any number of important projects, including delivering food and gifts to the elderly and homebound, wrapping toys for children who might otherwise have gone without, sorting through tons of clothing and blankets to give to low-income families and, of course, bell ringing!

Thank you so much for your support and please consider joining up with us again to face off against human need and overcome it by the power of love and generosity.

Blessings,

Majors Jeffrey and Dorothy Smith

Divisional Leaders
