The Heartbeat of Our Mission

Launched in the fall of 2007, "Come Join Our Army" is a national, three-year initiative to increase the number of senior and junior soldiers in The Salvation Army in the United States. By naming this effort and giving it a timeline, it provides Salvationists a clear focus and intentionality in not only sharing our salvation experience but in inviting others to join.

The New Testament pattern is clear that after someone accepts Christ as their savior, he or she is to be discipled so they may become a mature Christian, exercising his or her spiritual gifts to build up the body of Christ and reach the lost.

So, Come Join Our Army really lies at the very core of who we are. While the thematic approach may incorporate strategic thinking and programming, it's always been the heartbeat of our mission.
