| SALVATION ARMY PROVIDES AID AS PEOPLE FLEE FIGHTING IN REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA |
The Salvation Army in the Republic of Georgia is providing emergency assistance to people who have fled the fighting between Russian and Georgian armed forces in the South Ossetia region. In the town of Gori, where displaced people are gathering, The Salvation Army has supplied humanitarian aid, blankets, medical supplies and food to a local hospital for distribution. It is likely that additional aid will be taken to Gori.

| SALVATION ARMY CONTINUES HURRICANE DOLLY RELIEF |
The Salvation Army of Texas has sent additional mobile feeding units (canteens) and emergency disaster services (EDS) crews from across the state to southern Texas to supplement the 12 canteens already in place when Hurricane Dolly made landfall on Tuesday, July 22. From Tuesday until this past Sunday, The Salvation Army has served more than 36,000 meals, nearly 45,000 beverages and over 30,000 snacks to hurricane-affected residents and emergency workers.

| THE SALVATION ARMY CONTINUES MISSOURI, ILLINOIS FLOOD RESPONSE |
The Salvation Army continues to assist flood-affected residents of Missouri and Illinois as waters recede and emergency personnel are able to respond. Since the Mississippi River flooding began in early June, Salvation Army mobile feeding units (canteens) have served more than 98,000 meals, almost 17,000 sandwiches, over 39,000 snacks, more than 550,000 beverages and touched the lives of residents in ten different counties and dozens of communities. As of yesterday, more than 700 Salvation Army volunteers have worked in excess of 4,200 hours to provide assistance to those in need.

As of yesterday, The Salvation Army has served 54,000 meals, 84,000 snacks, 74,000 beverages and has touched the lives of over 100,000 people in the flood-devastated Cedar Rapids and Linn County, Iowa, area. Highly trained Salvation Army emergency disaster services (EDS) teams are offering emotional and spiritual care along with daily feeding and hydration to between 5,000-6,000 emergency workers and flood-affected residents through three fixed feeding sites and five mobile feeding units (canteens). Almost 700 volunteers have assisted The Salvation Army with 4,000 hours of work.

The Salvation Army is continuing to feed and hydrate residents and emergency workers throughout flood-affected areas in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Three fixed feeding sites and five mobile feeding units (canteens) are operating; the canteens travel through neighborhoods providing food and hydration. To date, almost 47,400 people have been served meals, snacks and beverages.

The Salvation Army deployed emergency disaster services (EDS) teams after deadly tornadoes hit Kansas and Iowa last night. The Salvation Army responded moments after a tornado tore through the Little Sioux Scout Ranch in western Iowa killing four boys and injuring 48 others. In Kansas EDS teams brought aid after a string of tornadoes killed two people and damaged three communities.

Tomorrow morning Salvation Army relief workers will begin serving noodles and biscuits to survivors in Mao Xian, Sichuan Province, a region northeast of Wenchuan, the epicenter of the strongest earthquake to hit China in more than three decades. The relief team includes Salvation Army personnel and volunteers from Hong Kong and mainland China. They had planned to arrive today, but were forced to reschedule due to strong aftershocks.
