$299,133 raised during the 2012 Red Kettle Match Day
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans
and The Salvation Army – Fox Cities have announced that the community donated $299,133 during
the 2012 Red Kettle Match Day. That amount brings the
total community investment to over $2.2 million donated during the nine-year
partnership.
Thrivent Financial’s Red Kettle Match Day Challenge remains the
largest continuous community matching day event for The Salvation Army in the
United States!
"This is really above and beyond anything we expected,"
said Captain
Randy Tooley, corps officer, The Salvation Army - Fox Cities. "Our neighbors and community members continue to
display incredible generosity and we’re so honored to live in such a community
where we place such an amazing value on helping one and other."

The community donated at more than 50 Red Kettles throughout the
Fox Cities and the total was matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans up to
$125,000 on Friday, November 30. Thrivent Financial volunteers staffed many of
the kettles and many donned costumes, sang songs and played instruments to help
draw attention to the match day. The total amount raised surpassed last year’s
total by more than $2,000.

“Our goal is to inspire generosity in our community,” said Peter
Gianopoulos, Red Kettle spokesman for Thrivent Financial. “Our neighbors once
again accepted the challenge and continue to display amazing compassion and
devotion to their fellow community members and amounts like these certainly
speak to that.”
