Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) was designed to provide financial assistance to individuals and families who are at risk of becoming homeless or who are already experiencing homelessness. Federal funds have been allocated to Kent County and the Grand Rapids area through the City of Grand Rapids, the County of Kent and Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA).
The Salvation Army Booth Family Services is the Lead Agency for the HPRP program in the Kent County area. Booth Family Services is partnering with the Coalition to End Homelessness, Community Rebuilders and ACSET to provide the services needed to the individuals and families that are eligible for the HPRP program.
For individuals or families that are experiencing homelessness or are at the risk of becoming homeless, please contact the Booth Family Services HAP office at 616-454-9468. HAP staff work with each household to consider the housing possibilities available, including HPRP if appropriate.
