March 2009 The first ever Bismarck Salvation Army Basketball Shoot-out will take place March 6th at The Salvation Army Community Center at 601 South Washington. Participants must be registered in the Community Center program. No fee. Awards will be given.
October 2008 The Bismarck Salvation Army nearly doubled the size of its Corps Community Center building with an addition completed in October of 2008. With the addition came a significant increase in services provided to the community. Along with the Sunday morning Worship Service, Sunday School classes, and free breakfast, other new and expanded programming has been taking place. The Food Pantry has a walk in cooler and freezer and the Army now provides milk, cheese, juice, meat, fruit and vegetables along with the standard canned food and personal care items. Other services such as free monthly Community Meal, rent and utility assistance are provided as well.
The first of more than 500 children took part in an old fashioned Halloween experience which included trick or treating at more than 25 "doors" in the Corps Community Center. Balloons, hot dogs, chips, candy, and arts and crafts rounded out the evening.
