Services
The Salvation Army is proud to help millions of people from all backgrounds. Over the years, our organization has expanded to allow for multiple services and programs benefiting those with basic needs and those who require unique assistance. Select from Social Services, Sal's Place, Correctional Aftercare, Spiritual Ministry or Emergency Disaster Services to view the ways in which we serve our community and transform lives.
A Legacy of Caring The Salvation Army has been serving the Bismarck/Mandan area since 1896 providing immediate and long-term assistance to families and individuals at their greatest point of need. Offering a vast variety of services to those in need, the Army has helped thousands of individuals and families get through tough times. The Salvation Army believes that every human being is valuable in the eyes of God and operates daily from that premise, offering - without discrimination - help and hope to all with a verified need.
The work of The Salvation Army is performed in Bismarck-Mandan by people who live in the community and are committed to helping the less fortunate. Committed local leaders comprise a board which advises the local Salvation Army officers.
Last year over 13,500 individuals received help, including clothing, food, utility or heat assistance, lodging, a hot meal, or affordable day care. But numbers only go so far.
Behind every number is a beating heart and a hungry soul. Behind all the statistics are stories; stories of people given a hand up out of crisis, poverty, or homelessness; stories of people becoming productive members of family and society; stories of people offered daily help and eternal hope; stories of people given a new start in life.
