TREE OF LIGHTS CAMPAIGN

    REACHES 91% OF ITS GOAL

Funds raised provide vital services & programs all year long

Springfield, MO (January 26, 2012) - As January comes to a close so does The Salvation Army's Tree of Lights Campaign. The annual campaign seeks the community's support in providing funding for vital programs and services throughout the entire year.

As of Thursday January 26th, donors had helped The Salvation Army reach 91%, or $914,107 of its 2011 Tree of Lights goal. The campaign officially ends on January 31, 2012.

Ozark Area Coordinator, Major Norman Grainger, said the organization is truly grateful for every single donation it received this year - especially considering the current economic climate.

"Each day we help numerous individuals and families from all walks of life," Major Norman Grainger said. "We undoubtedly could not help so many if it were not for the Ozarks' continued generosity and support, which we are sincerely grateful for."

Should The Salvation Army fail to come within 5% of its Tree of Lights goal Grainger said the organization will automatically undergo line-item budget revisions.

Donations can be delivered to 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway Springfield MO 65802 or made online at www.onlineredket tle.com/TSAOzarksAreaCoordination.

The Salvation Army Ozark Area Coordination helps residents in Greene, Christian, Taney & Stone counties. During 2010, The Salvation Army provided more than 56,000 services to nearly 20,000 Ozarks residents. Available assistance includes an emergency food pantry, shelter and housing programs, a senior citizen center and many community outreach events.
