Guide for Salvation Army Furniture, Clothing, & Household Good Donations

Send this page to a friend Email envolope

Your continued donations of gently used furniture, clothing, and household goods make our work possible. Our two Family Thrift Stores in Columbia, Missouri help support our Harbor House (Homeless Shelter) in Columbia. Our one Family Thrift Store in Jefferson City helps to support our Center of Hope Shelter in Jefferson City. These three Family Thrift Stores help us to support other programs in both regions as well.

Please do not take donations to either Community and Worship Center at 1108 West Ash Street in Columbia or 927 Jefferson Street in Jefferson City. Please do not take donations to our shelters, Center of Hope Shelter in Jefferson City or Harbor House in Columbia. These four facilities are not equiped to handle, store, or process donations.

If you want to donate a major appliance in working order, please call a Family Thrift Store in your location to verify that they will accept that type of appliance.

DONATION PROCESS

A receipt for your items may be obtained in one of two ways:

  1. If you drop off a donation at either of our Salvation Army Family Thrift Stores, the store clerk or the Team Leader will be happy to provide you with a receipt for the donated items.
  2. If you have your furniture donations picked up, the truck driver will provide you with a receipt.
