Social Services/Pathway of Hope Case Manager

We need a motivated self-starter able to provide intake, assessment, and services to individuals seeking ESS assistance and holiday assistance. These services may include assistance with food, utility bulls, rent or mortgage payments, transportation, prescriptions, other basic needs items and Christmas food and toys. The Case Manager will recruit participants for and manage the Pathway of Hope (POH) program. This includes pre-screening and coordinating goal setting with clients and monitoring their progress. Position supervises the operation of a food pantry with one paid staff person and volunteers. Networking with community agencies, programs and referral resources to benefit the agency and its clients is a must. Compliance with and meeting The Salvation Army, Federal, State and Local policies and standards is required.

Qualifications include Bachelor's degree in human services field accompanied by at least one year related work experience with some supervisory experience. A combination of training and work experience will be considered. Strong leadership style and good organization skills required. Commitment to carry out The Salvation Army's mission is essential. Knowledge of The Salvation Army and Government, State and community resources is helpful. Candidate must have working knowledge of computers, including use of email, databases, Word and Excel. Candidate must have reliable transportation, a valid Driver's License and pass TSA MVR check. Good communication skills as well as the ability to work with diverse cultures and challenging personalities are essential.

Harbor House Shelter - Monitor Substitute -- As Needed to cover scheduled and last minute absences plus one 16-hour position on week-ends.

These positions are within a church-affiliated homeless shelter. The position maintains shelter security, performs clerical and reception duties, and provides general assistance to guests and shelter residents. Minimum starting pay is $8.80/hour. A High School diploma/GED certificate with one year work experience is required. A successful candidate must be a team player, self-starter, and perform well with minimum supervsion, while maintaining client confidentiality. Excellent communication, MS Word, and Excel computer skills are also required. Pease see pdf of job posting linked at the bottom of the page. This is an ongoing recruitment for substitutes until the positions are filled for the week-end positions.

Harbor House Shelter Week End Cook, and "As Needed" Cook Substitute. These are two positions, one for week end cook, and a cook substitute. Accepting applications until filled. Positions do not receive benefits.

We need a motivated self-starter able to contribute to a team effort to function as Week End Shelter Cook (1st Position) - needed on weekends for a church-affiliated homeless shelter. We also need an "As Needed" on call Substitute Cook (2nd Position). Minimum starting pay is $8.38. A High School diploma/GED with 1 year of related work experience cooking for large groups (30-50) is required. Please see pdf of job posting linked at the bottom of the page.

Duties will include healthy operation of kitchen and dining area, adherence to weekly menu plans, reporting food and supply needs to the supervisor, preparation and serving of meals, and clean-up of kitchen and dining area. Position will remain open until filled.
