Harbor House Shelter Lead Week Day Cook
We are looking for a team player motivated self-starter for this 40-hour per week position starting at $9.13/hour, responsible for healthy operation of kitchen, preparing meals, and supervision of additional cooking staff including week-end cook and cook substitute. High school diploma or equivalent, 1 year cooking experience for groups of 30-50, and 1 year supervisory experience preferred. Harbor House Shelter - Shelter Monitor Substitute -- As Needed to cover scheduled and last minute absences. This is an ongoing recruitment.
The position is within a church-affiliated homeless shelter. The position maintains shelter security, performs clerical and reception duties, and provides general assistance to guests and shelter residents. Minimum starting pay is $8.80/hour. A High School diploma/GED certificate with one year work experience is required. Candidates must be a team player, self-starter, and perform well with minimum supervsion, while maintaining client confidentiality. Columbia Corps Custodian & Groundskeeper, 24-hours/week all year round
We need a motivated self-starter able to contribute to a team effort maintaining the Columbia Corps physical plant and grounds. Housekeeping duties include dusting, window washing, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, vacuuming, and carpet and vinyl floor tile cleaning and maintenance including stripping and waxing. Other duties include changing HVAC filters, light bulbs in fixtures and emergency lights. Grounds work includes yard work, trash removal, raking leaves, snow removal, and lawn mowing as needed. Applicant is expected to maintain order in janitorial area, maintain supplies, be knowledgeable of cleaning techniques and chemicals, and maintain janitorial equipment. Applicant will assist in preparation of rooms for Corps Programs, luncheons, and meetings. Applicant will be responsible for some pickups and deliveries. Applicant will also be responsible for Corps vehicle maintenance and help office manager maintain vehicle records. Applicant may supervise community service volunteers.
Qualifications include High School Diploma or GED with 1-yeaar related experience. Applicant must be able to read and understand job description, cleaning instructions, and material safety data sheets. Individual must be able to take instruction well, possess excellent communication skills to communicate with staff and visitors to the facility as well as in public when representing TSA. A Class E driver's license is required. Minimum starting salary is $7.98/hour. Expected closing date is 11.15.13. Please see pdf of the job posting linked at the bottom of this webpage.
