We need a motivated self-starter able to contribute to a team effort to function as Week End Shelter Cook (1st Position) - needed on weekends for a church-affiliated homeless shelter. We also need an "As Needed" on call Substitute Cook (2nd Position). Minimum starting pay is $8.38. Lead Cook at Harbor House Shelter in Columbia, Missouri. This is one position.
This is a 40-hour per week position starting at $9.13/hour, responsible for healthy operation of kitchen, preparing meals, and supervision of additional cooking staff including week-end cook and cook substitute. High school diploma or equivalent, 1 year cooking experience for groups of 30-60, and 1 year supervisory experience preferred. Harbor House Shelter - Shelter Monitor Substitute -- As Needed to cover scheduled and last minute absences. This is an ongoing recruitment.
The position is within a church-affiliated homeless shelter. The position maintains shelter security, performs clerical and reception duties, and provides general assistance to guests and shelter residents. Minimum starting pay is $8.80/hour. A High School diploma/GED certificate with one year work experience is required. Candidates must be a team player, self-starter, and perform well with minimum supervsion, while maintaining client confidentiality. Thrift Stores Store Worker Positions, Two Part Time 20-Hours/Week Positions Available, with Other Positions As Needed
We need motivated self-starters able to contribute to a team effort with the ability to work with customers, lift and carry donated/purchased items, sort donated clothes, as well as stocking and pricing merchandise. Some positions may require the ability to run a cash register and make change. The job does involve physical labor and some lifting up to 50 pounds. A high school diploma/equivalent diploma and 1 year related work experience is desired. Two year's experience is required without HS diploma/equivalent. Individual must be able to take instruction well, and work sometimes with minimal supervision. Minimum starting salary is $7.98/hour. 20-Hours positions offer paid leave and pension benefits after one year. Hours may vary. The expected closing date is 04.12.13, or until filled. Thrift Stores Truck Driver Position in Columbia, MO
We need motivated self-starters able to contribute to a team effort to drive and ride on the delivery truck as well as work in the corps and stores. Duties include lifting and carrying donated items, food, and other items, and operating store baler and forklift. This position is support for two thrift stores and the food pantry operations performed by the Columbia Corps. Position may include other janitorial duties including window washing, vacuuming, mopping floors, trash removal, and cleaning restrooms. Vehicle must be driven in a safe operating manner, and position requires monitoring Corps vehicles for repairs and maintenance.
A high school diploma/equivalent diploma and one year related work experience is desired. Two years work experience is required without a diploma/GED. A Missouri Class E drivers' license, ability to communicate well with staff and customers, comprehend a written job description, city map, cleaning, and material handling instructions are required.
