The Salvation Army of Des Plaines is a Community and Worship Center that provides an extended family and a spiritual, emotional and physical sanctuary-for children, teens, adults and seniors from all walks of life. In addition to worship services, we offer educational training, social services, religious programs and recreational activities.
El Ejèrcito de Salvaciòn de Des Plaines es una Comunidad y Centro de Adoraciòn que provee una familia extendida y un santuario espiritual, emocional y fìsico para niños, adolescentes, adultos y viejos de todo estilo de vida. Ademàs del servicio de adoraciòn, ofrecemos entrenamiento educacional, servicios sociales, programas religiosos y actividades recreacionales.
What About Volunteer Opportunities - We often refer to volunteers as "the army behind the Army"! We say that because we literally could not thrive without volunteers. Please check with one of the Captains to see how you could help.

| FYI - In order to work with Youth and Children, potential volunteers must fill out paperwork for a background check to work with minors. This is part of our "Safe From Harm" program that works to protect children from abusive situations, and provide a safe environment for youth and children in our care. |
