On Thursday, January 6, 2011, Karen Nielson of the First Lutheran Foundation
presented a $4,000 check to Captain R.C. Duskin of The Salvation Army - Eau
Claire, WI. The First Lutheran Foundation felt a calling to fulfill a
couple needs within the community. The organization had heard that The
Salvation Army was in need of assistance with the Red Kettle Campaign since an
intense snow storm closed the Red Kettles during one of the busiest shopping
days of the year.
The First Lutheran Foundation also helped to raise money on behalf of a
local church that was recently broken into. The thief stole thousands of
dollars, so of which was intended for an orphanage in Peru.

About the First Lutheran Foundation
Since its inception in 1985, the First Lutheran Foundation, Inc., has
provided financial support to mission that complements the ministry of the
congregation. The Foundation does not fund the regular ministry of First
Lutheran Church; rather, the Foundation uses investment earnings to support
initiatives beyond the ongoing ministry of the congregation such as senior
housing, college scholarships, foreign mission, capital improvements to the
