Behind the Red Shield is the heart of compassion and the LOVE of GOD.

There is a great focus at the Fulton Heights Citadel to open our doors to the needs of people. Of primary importance is our Sunday morning worship service. The greatest needs of people are met when the word of God speaks to their hearts. We believe that every Christian should be committed to a local church, worshiping the Lord Jesus, and assisting in the work of sharing God's love.

A marvelous way to worship our Lord is through music. There are many opportunities to get involved with music at the Corps. Hearts are blessed and ready to receive the word of God when songs about our savior are lifted up. Music is brought by the senior band, worship band, songsters, soloists, piano and more. We are always encouraging people to come join us.

Many programs are offered for young and old to get involved in. Youth groups and adult groups are available for those at the corps and outside the corps. Our senior's group is open to all seniors, primarily targeted for those in the community. As well, our community center is open to young and old in the community and it has much to offer.

KINGDOM VALUES & FHC CORE VALUES

  • Expect the unexpected

"If I were in your shoes, I'd go straight to God,
I'd throw myself on the mercy of God.
After all, he's famous for great and unexpected acts;
there's no end to his surprises.
Job 5:8-9 (message)

  • Irrelevance is irreverence

"I believe the Lord is not only grieved and disappointed, but I believe He is angry when His people meet, and talk, and sing, and pray, and then go away without any definite result having been reached -- without ever having given anything to Him, or received anything from Him."
--Catherine Booth, co-founder of The Salvation Army

  • Love people when they least expect it and least deserve it

Luke 6:35 (NLT) "Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked."

  • Playing it safe is risky

Luke 19:26 (the Message) "He [the Master] said, 'That's what I mean: Risk your life and get more than you ever dreamed of. Play it safe and end up holding the bag."

  • Pray like it depends on God and work like it depends on you

Do you sometimes feel that no one truly knows you,

And that no one understands or really cares?

Through his people, God himself is close beside you,

And through them he plans to answer all your prayers.

-General John Gowans

  • Everyone is invaluable and irreplaceable

Luke 15:10 (KJV) "Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth."
