Advisory Board: Keys To Success
PRAYER
Sign and return our prayer pledge card. The most important thing you as Advisory Board members can do is to pray for the people we help each year, as well as the officers, staff and volunteers throughout the campaign.
BELL RINGING/ADOPTION
Take a shift to ring bells as an Advisory Board member. You may also choose to ring solo, or with your family or business associates. You can also Adopt-a-Kettle for your business, by actually hosting the kettle at your business, or by having your employees man a kettle site for an entire day(s). You can also adopt-a-bellringer, paying for the cost of one day's paid bellringer.
APPEAL LETTERS
Assist the campaign by writing personal letters to friends, associates and colleagues. You may choose to use your own letterhead, or you can contact us for assistance.
PERSONAL or COMPANY GIFT
Make a personal or company monetary gift to the Tree of Lights Campaign. Each basic day of service cost is worth $870 this year. Each Advisory Board member is asked to be responsible for 4 days through their personal giving, appeal letters, etc.
CHURCH INVOLVEMENT
Your contact with your church is important to the campaign. We ask each Advisory Board member to invite their pastor, mission committee, finance committee person, or church representative to a meal and tour of The Salvation Army. You can also schedule a Salvation Army representative to speak to your church.
PERSONAL INTRODUCTION
There are many ways to earn the Personal Introduction key. Have your business hold a "Charity Day for TSA." Encourage your employees and associates to have a day of sacrifice, with proceeds going to The Salvation Army. You may also invite people to a tour, hold a board meeting at our facility or host a speaker at your club. Underwriting an event, or even a portion thereof, will also earn this key. Other creative alternatives are encouraged!
SERVICE
This key is a great way to get involved. Assist the campaign by volunteering at any of our various Christmas events. You may participate in the Women's Auxiliary Fashion Show, work at the gift wrap booth or Toy Shop, or any of the various Christmas events, such as basket distribution or the Thanksgiving luncheon. This hands-on approach will allow you to more fully experience the fun and joy that we help spread each Christmas.
