Mozambique & Angola Until Mozambique was recently declared by General Shaw Clifton as a separate command, it was part of the Southern Africa Territory, which was composed of Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, St. Helena, South Africa and Swaziland. The work in Mozambique was pioneered by African converts in 1916 and was officially recognized as a country in which The Salvation Army was working in 1923. Headquartered in Maputo, the country's capitol city, the command's training college is also located there.
