VBS Ideas

Probably the number one outreach event for most children's ministries is the Vacation Bible School (VBS) program. Typically this is a program offered five days during one week in the summer, with a standard VBS curriculum and staffed with volunteers from the congregation.

CSB and KCS: United in Music
A weekend of exciting opportunities in Kansas City, Mo., for the Chicago Staff Band (CSB) began with a joint concert with the Kansas City Symphony (KCS) on Saturday evening.

"Opportunities for Army bands to perform with professional orchestras do not come along very often," observed Bandmaster William Himes. "But over the years the CSB has been privileged to perform with the Houston, Wichita, Ravinia and Cincinnati Pops Orchestras, and this present experience with the Kansas City Symphony, under the baton of assistant conductor Damon Gupton, was a real treat from start to finish." The Salvation Army in Argentina
Argentina is part of The Salvation Army's South America East Territory, along with Uruguay and Paraguay. The work of Ejército de Salvación in Argentina and Uruguay was begun in 1890 by four officers who didn't speak a word of Spanish! The work in Paraguay began 20 years later.
