TEXT A $10 GIFT TO THE SALVATION ARMY
Wauwatosa, WI (December 2, 2011) Individuals can now make a text donation
to The Salvation Army, simply text the word 'GIVE' to 80888 to make a $10
donation to The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Christmas campaign.
"We are down $15,000 in our Red Kettles compared to this time last year.
Technology advancements provide many options for donors. We want to make
giving as easy as possible. Eighty four cents of every dollar donated
supports critical programs and services. Our goal is to keep those
programs and services in place and meet the ever increasing need for
emergency and Christmas assistance," said Major Roger Ross, Salvation Army
Milwaukee County Commander. "We're praying for just a little snow to put
people in the Christmas spirit of giving," stated Ross.
The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County announced the launch of its annual
Red Kettle Christmas Campaign on November 4th. The goal of The Salvation
Army in Milwaukee is $2.7 million dollars that will sustain Toy Shop,
Christmas Family Feast, emergency shelter, medical supplies, food
pantries, and meals to the homeless and care to our veterans.
