1290 WMCS & THE SALVATION ARMY HOST CHRISTMAS
FAMILY FEAST
Organizers Prepare to Feed Thousands
Wauwatosa, WI (December 19, 2011) The Salvation Army and
partner 1290 WMCS
are just days away from the 22nd Annual Christmas
Family Feast. The
organizations are preparing to serve thousands on
Sunday, December 25
Christmas Day at the Frontier Airlines Center, 400 W.
Wisconsin Ave.
Christmas Family Feast hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30
p.m.
"The Christmas Family Feast is a Milwaukee tradition. What
started out 22
years ago as a dinner to feed those in need, has evolved
into an important
holiday event where a great meal serves as the focal
point for a wonderful
day of fellowship and community," said 1290 WMCS
operations manager Tyrene
"TJ" Jackson.
Major Roger Ross,
Salvation Army Milwaukee County Commander said,
"Christmas is a wonderful
time of year when we are all reminded of the
many blessings we have.
However, for an increasing number of people in
our community, the
holidays are becoming can be challenging. The economy
has taken a toll on
so many families and through the Christmas Family
Feast we are able to
share compassion and offer a real feeling of
community."
This
year's Christmas Family Feast menu will consist of ham, turkey and
dressing, mashed potatoes, yams, green beans, dinner rolls, an assortment
of deserts and beverages.
Guests will receive complimentary gifts
while supplies last.
Last year 8,986 individuals were served dinner
on Christmas Day.

About The Salvation
Army:
The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the
universal Christian church,
has been supporting those in need in His name
without discrimination since
1865. Nearly 33 million Americans receive
assistance from The Salvation
Army each year through the broadest array
of social services that range
from providing food for the hungry, relief
for disaster victims,
assistance for the disabled, outreach to the
elderly and ill, clothing and
shelter to the homeless and opportunities
for underprivileged children.
Nationally, approximately 84 cents of every
dollar raised is used to
support those services in nearly 9,000
communities nationwide. For more
