Feed the Kids is a summer youth feeding program designed to meet the needs of children in neighborhoods not served through a summer feeding program. The Salvation Army brings lunches to neighborhoods, parks, and street corners in Milwaukee's poorest areas. We serve an average of 2,000 lunches per day for 10 weeks each summer. The objective of the program is to serve hungy children a nutritious meal during the summer months. We partner with other community agencies to address the causes of hunger and to provide the best possible meals to alleviate hunger. This program operates in collaboration with Hunger Task Force, Milwaukee Public Schools, and other Milwaukee community agencies. Approximately 100,000 lunches are distributed each summer by The Salvation Army.
Services and Opportunities Include:
- Preparation and Distribution of Lunches (Monday through Friday)
- Park Outreach Programs and Events
- Opportunities for Volunteer Services
- Pastoral Care
