My husband and I appreciate all the meals and canned goods we get from The Salvation Army. We have a very limited income. My husband is on SSI and now has cancer. I, myself am currently trying to receive SSI benefits. The Salvation Army was so good to me when my sister passed away. The staff at The Salvation Army were there for me and now they are like my family.

This program helps individuals and families in need of temporary assistance due to financial crisis.
Some of the general items we assist with include:
▪ Food from our pantry
▪ Clothing
▪ Household items
▪ Diapers
▪ Personal care kits
▪ Furniture for fire victims (with referral from American Red Cross)
▪ Christmas assistance (food baskets, toys, winter coats and hats)
▪ Rent assistance
▪ Referrals to other agencies
DAILY COMMUNITY MEAL
This meal is for the homeless and lonely and is served daily from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Our meals program is designed to meet the most basic necessity of food. With this program, everyone in Joplin and the surrounding areas have access to at least one meal a day.
