The Salvation Army Thrift Store is a familiar sight throughout the community. Through the hard work of the Adult Rehabilitation Center, these stores fill two significant needs: they allow people with limited means to purchase goods at reasonable costs, while maintaining the dignity of doing their own shopping; and they make it possible for people who have no funds to obtain a voucher at any Salvation Army social service center and receive items at no cost.
All area thrift stores accept inventory from a variety of places. Examples of items we welcome for donation include:
- Clothing (men, women & children) for every age
- Furniture that is not torn, broken or badly stained
- Large appliances: freezers and refrigerators (must be plugged in and working at time of pick up). No electric ranges or built-ins.
- Small appliances: can openers, toasters, phones, etc.
- Miscellaneous: usable dishes, knick-knacks, kitchen utensils, toys, working computers and accessories, etc.
- Running vehicles: cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, trailers, etc.
Information pertaining to the value of goods is available from the IRS or by clicking here.
