The Salvation Army has been in Kenosha since the late 1800's with a mission to serve the needs of the community in a compassionate and loving fashion. Current most pressing needs being met by The Salvation Army are food security, personal hygiene, clothing and household goods, crisis financial assistance, and basic medical care.
There has been a need for the uninsured or underinsured to have mental health diagnosis and counseling made available to them. The Salvation Army, in accordance with our determination to offer assistance, is providing counseling, at-no-cost, to the community.
The Red Shield Counseling Center is staffed by licensed and insured volunteer social workers and counselors. Counseling services provided include diagnosis of mental health issues, individual and family counseling, mediation, grief counseling, and information and referral services. This is in accordance with The Salvation Army's efforts toward "meeting people at their point of need and communicating the love of God through practical expressions of compassion."
The services are offered with compassion and confidentiality, free of charge, without discrimination, to all Kenosha County residents who come for assistance.
These services are being offered as an attempt by The Salvation Army to meet the needs of people who are facing new and more challenging stressors in today's social and economic crisis.
