On the morning of August 10th, 75 students in need from Lincoln, NE were awarded $80 gift cards from Target to purchase clothing and supplies for Back to School. In a partnership with The Salvation Army, Target awarded a total of 12,000 gift cards nationwide.
Salvation Army staff identified and invited the 75 students, and also lined up 75 volunteers from area businesses to help facilitate the shopping. Students and Volunteers met at The Salvation Army at 2625 Potter Street and took school buses to the three participating Target locations in town.
