The Salvation Army Partnerships in Mission Program:
The Kalamazoo Corps and the Malawi Command
Every year, The Salvation Army Kalamazoo Corps dedicates a portion of its funding to support The Salvation Army World Services in other parts of the world. In 2008, the Kalamazoo Corps was selected to participate in a pilot program, Partnerships in Mission. The program partners the Kalamazoo Corps with The Salvation Army's Malawi Command and all of the World Services Funding in Kalamazoo will go to directly benefit The Salvation Army in Malawi, Africa.
For the first year of the partnership, the Kalamazoo Corps will be funding a corps building project in Nkhata Bay, Malawi. The project is estimated to cost $40,000 and will create a permanent facility for The Salvation Army operations in the Nkhata Bay region, which borders Lake Malawi in the northern region of Malawi.
