The Salvation Army is committed to improving opportunities for young people in high-need areas through provision of health and support services, recreation and entertainment facilities specifically for youth. Many of these services also cater for children. In this way, the Army aims to help prevent problems such as youth homelessness, unemployment and suicide.
Our Youth Development Strategy includes 5 Core Program Areas to help our youth achieve a positive self-identity; educational, employment, social, emotional and cultural competencies; community and civic involvement; health and well-being; and a moral compass.
The Club has a staff of dedicated and energetic men and women. These staff members administer and supervise the following programs in order to insure that our Core Program Areas are realized and that we may mold our members into healthy and productive people.
- The After-School Program includes tutoring/homework help, computer access, arts & crafts, drug & alcohol prevention, devotions, and games.
- The Sports Program includes coed soccer, basketball, and volleyball.
- The summer-long day camp allows children to swim, take field trips, venture into the outdoors, develop their talents by making and building things, and simply having an enjoyable summer.
