Partners in Mission, Partners in Prayer 19/10/2012

Our Partners in Mission have shared the following prayer requests and praise reports.

Hungary
Roma issue-Many European countries are experiencing a flow of migrant individuals, including significant numbers of Roma (gypsy). Hungary is in a unique position in that they have Roma officers ministering to various Roma communities as part of their overall ministry. As such, The Salvation Army in Hungary is being looked to for wisdom and direction to assist in formulating a response to social needs arising in the Roma population.

Human trafficking-Hungary is a supplying country of trafficked women into prostitution in Western Europe. The Salvation Army in Hungary is working to establish partnerships with Western Europe Salvation Army Territories and other social services agencies involved in fighting human trafficking.

Cadets-It is a praise report that 2 Hungarian cadets will be commissioned in June 2013!

Kenya East Territory
Peace and Unity-The Salvation Army has recently been involved with emergency response projects following tension in the country. Pray for reconciliation and harmony in these tense areas, and overall peace and unity within the country. Also, please be in prayer for the general election which is planned for March 2013.

Food Relief Programs-The Salvation Army Kenya East Territory is preparing to embark on some food relief programs in drought stricken areas. Please pray for this effort and the families who are affected by hunger and extreme poverty.

Mali Region
Training of Cadets in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)-Since The Salvation Army in Mali is still a small region without its own training college, cadets are trained in another French-speaking territory, the DRC. The Mali Region is in the
process of sending three cadets to Training. Please be in pray that the necessary funding would be available for this training and for the cadets who will be preparing for officership.

Expanding the work of The Salvation Army-The Mali Region has started Salvation Army work in its neighboring country of Burkina Faso where there are outposts in the city of Bobo Dioulasso and in the capital, Ouagadougou. The Mali Region recently opened an outpost in the country of Chad and has made some contacts in Benin. Please be in prayer for The Salvation Army's work in these new areas.

Need for Officers
Please pray that God will open doors for more officers to be appointed to the Mali Region as there is a great need for additional officers.
