We are entering into new Partner In Mission (PIM) relationships with the start of the World Services giving year in May 2012. Corps, centers, and commands have enjoyed some wonderful events and projects with our current PIMs. Building on those experiences, we anticipate these new partnerships will bring about even more blessings to our people as they learn about and get involved in giving of their time, talent, and treasure in support of new people and places.

These specific partners have been assigned to the following Central Territory commands:

ARCC: Belize & The William Chamberlain Addiction Rehabilitation Centre, Kingston Jamaica
CFOT:
St. Kitts, St. Lucia & Training College, Kingston, Jamaica (Caribbean Territory)
EMI:
Kenya East Territory
HRT:
Austria & Hungary (Switzerland, Austria and Hungary Territory), Grenada & St. Vincent (Caribbean Territory)
IND:
Mali (Africa) Barbados & St. Maarten (Caribbean Territory)
KWM:
India Southeast Territory
MET:
Antigua, Guyana, Bahamas, Trinidad & Tobago (Caribbean Territory)
MID:
Haiti (Caribbean Territory)
NOR:
Jamaica West Division, French Guyana & The School for the Blind, Kingston, Jamaica
WST:
Jamaica East Division, & Suriname (Caribbean Territory)
WMNI:
Kenya East Territory
WUM:
India South Eastern Territory
THQ:
Caribbean Territorial Headquarters

As you consider an approach to beginning these new partnership, here are a few reminders from the Missions Bureau on projects you and your units could consider:

  • Sponsor a young person or young officer couple to attend territorial events: Youth Councils, CBLI, CMI, Commissioning weekend, etc. Such a trip would be a once in a lifetime event for them.
  • Raise money and travel to a PIM for a short term missions trip. While this is expensive, experience has shown our people are willing to work towards a worthwhile goal. A possible outcome of mission trips can be increased global awareness of Salvation Army ministry and increase World Services giving.
  • Sponsor a children's home in a PIM country.
  • Consider inviting a young adult from a PIM country to serve on a summer camp staff as an employee of volunteer staff, paying their travel expenses and hosting them for the Summer.
  • Use Project 24/29 kits, available from the Missions Bureau, for corps or commands to raise funds and increase awareness of your PIM. The program involves a 24 hour fast, Bible study, education, and a local service project.

The Missions Bureau is ready to assist you as you consider ways to partner with fellow Salvationists in your new PIM countries. Contact us by sending an email to Missions@usc.salvationarmy.org.

Thank you for your support of our Partners in Mission, both old and new!
