Matthew & Rona Beatty
Officer Training College Caretaker / Driver
Philippines TerritoryMatthew Beatty, a soldier of the Kansas City Northland Corps, visited the Philippines in 2010 as part of a corps mission trip through the Partners in Mission Next-Steps program. After a week of service and ministry there, Matthew did not feel ready to leave. His experiences had impacted him greatly and he had formed many significant friendships.
In February 2011, Matthew left his position as a Salvation Army employee in Kansas City in order to move to the Philippines where he works at The Salvation Army Officer Training College. While Matthew's official title is Officer Training College Caretaker/Driver, many of Matthew's other credentials such as being a licensed ham radio operator have also been put to good use in his appointment. On April 29, 2012, Matthew married Salvation Army Soldier Rona Mutcha, and she has joined him in serving at the Officer Training College. Recently the Beattys took on an additional assignment of leading the Sunday School, Bible Study, and Holiness Meeting twice a month at the Tanayville and Pag-Asa Outreaches.
