Annual fundraiser helps support children's programming!
Springfield MO (April 18, 2012) Help support local youth by purchasing beautiful geraniums during the 20th Annual Spring Geranium Sale, sponsored by The Salvation Army's Women's Auxiliary. Geraniums are on sale now through May 9th or while supplies last.
Each year, proceeds benefit the Springfield Corps' after-school program, Summer Day Camp, and help provide Easter clothing for children living in The Salvation Army's Family Enrichment Center. The Family Enrichment Center provides transitional housing and practical support for families that are homeless or are in crisis.
"This is a great opportunity to beautify your home with lovely flowers while at the same time beautifying the lives of those in need through giving," Springfield Corps Officer, Major Claire Grainger, said.
Geraniums will be grown by Steinert's Greenhouse & Gardens and each 5 ½ inch diameter pot is $4.75 - available colors include red, violet, white and salmon.
Group orders of 25 or more can be delivered. Order forms are available at the Springfield Corps' office located at 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway and online by clicking here. Please note that orders will only be accepted along with payment.
Geraniums will be available for pick up on May 10th from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at The Salvation Army's main office located at 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway.
