SALVATION ARMY CELEBRATES RENEWAL

The Salvation Army Easter Celebration Is All About OvercomingThe Salvation Army is celebrating Easter by emphasizing Easter's meaning and symbolic relevance to Americans' lives. Highlights of Easter events will include a Senior Rally 4/2, Palm Sunday Service 4/5, Movie Night 4/6, Half Night of Prayer 4/7, Good Friday Services 4/10, Family Eggs-Travanganza 4/11 and culminating with a Sunrise Service, Community Brunch, Worship Service and lunch on Easter Sunday 4/12.

Salvation Army volunteers will provide a friendly visit along with a small gift to the elderly in area nursing homes during the Easter celebration.

The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary will purchase Easter clothing for children living in our Family Enrichment Shelter from part of the proceeds from their Annual Geranium Sale. Red, white and salmon geranium are on sale now through May 6 for $2.75 each.

Many people have lost more than faith. "Americans who have lost their jobs are finding it hard to get re-employed," Major Grainger observes. "Layoffs and downsizing have created new waves of homeless people as well as families who can't afford food and utilities. The least fortunate among us are still struggling. They need our help. For them, we are reaching out to our friends, asking for gifts of support."
