MORE THAN 250 EVANGEL ATHLETES & COACHES
BELLRING AT BATTLEFIELD MALL
Evangel coaches & student athletes to bellring all day!
Springfield, MO (December 06, 2011) - More than 250 Evangel University coaches & student-athletes will help support The Salvation Army's 2011 Tree of Lights Campaign by bellringing at Battlefield Mall on Tuesday December 6.
The Evangel athletes & coaches will ring bells for The Salvation Army all day at all 16 entrances to Battlefield Mall
"Every sport has committed their entire roster, so this is a department-wide event that will include more than 250 student-athletes and coaches," said Coach Chad Gehring coordinator of Evangel's athletics ministry efforts.
This year, The Salvation Army anticipates providing more than 1,000 local families with toys, food & winter weather accessories through its Christmas assistance program. The funds and donations received during the annual Tree of Lights Campaign help The Salvation Army provide assistance to these families as well as thousands of other Ozarks residents throughout the year in Greene, Taney, Christian & Stone counties.
"Every member of our local community has been impacted in some way by the Red Kettle Campaign, whether as a donor, a volunteer or a recipient of the provisions," said Gehring. "The young men and women at Evangel are looking forward to this opportunity to help out.
In addition to local events like this, The Evangel Athletics Ministry (T.E.A.M.) provides the University's athletes with the opportunity to participate in national and international service trips during their off seasons.
The Salvation Army still needs many more volunteer bellringers. To sign-up to bellring please call (417) 862-5509 ext. 123.
