THE SALVATION ARMY SEEKS COMMUNITY SUPPORT
IN REACHING TREE OF LIGHTS GOAL
Donations help The Salvation Army help others all year long
Springfield, MO (December 27, 2012) - Six weeks ago today, The Salvation Army began its annual Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign. Each year through community support the campaign raises critically needed funds that allow The Salvation Army to provide vital programs and services to thousands of local Ozarks' residents all year long.
Currently, The Salvation Army is $244,000 short of reaching of its $1,000,000 fundraising goal; to date, $756,138 has been donated. All donations stay in the community where they originated and will help residents in Greene, Christian, Taney and Stone counties.
"We greatly appreciate everyone who has donated to support our efforts in the community," Major Norman Grainger, Ozark Area Coordinator said. "It is truly only through continued community support that The Salvation Army is able to help so many Ozarks' residents in need" Grainger said.
Financial donations can be made online at www.onlineredkettle.com/springfieldmo-ozarkarea mailed to The Salvation Army P.O. Box 9685 Springfield MO 65801-9685, or made over the phone by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
"Donations allow us to help families put food on their tables, provide shelter for those who have nowhere else to go and operate safe and affordable programs for children and senior citizens," Grainger said.
The Salvation Army Ozark Area Coordination helps residents in Greene, Christian, Taney & Stone counties. Last year, The Salvation Army provided more than 58,000 services to nearly 20,000 Ozarks residents.
