This year The Sal's After-School Program is better than ever! The program operates Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm until 7 pm - a nutritious evening meal, school pickup, and all activites are included in the program's cost! Your child will have a great time in a safe, encouraging, and positive environment.

2012-2013 Activities
Recreational activities, team building games, homework help & tutoring, arts & crafts projects, Bible classes, singing and other music programs...and much more!
Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in many of The Salvaton Army's Youth Character Building Programs as well.
Hours of Operation
The After-School Program operates Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway. The after-school program also operates from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. when Springfield Public Schools are closed for scheduled vacation and/or work days. There is a "late pick-up fee" of $10 that will be charged for every 15 minutes that a child is picked up after 7 p.m.
After-School Pickup
After-school pickup from Salvation Army staff is currently available at the following elementary & middle schools: York, Williams, Bissett, Watkins, Westport, Bowerman, Boyd, Pleasant View, Study Middle School & Reed Middle School. However, additional schools may be added based on program enrollment.
Program Staff
The After-School Program's staff consists of a full-time Community Center Director, Community Center Coordinator and several trained counselors, which all have a deep interest in the well-being of your child. All individuals working with children enrolled in the Community Center's programs have undergone thorough background checks and are certified in CPR & First Aid.
