The Salvation Army's Emergency Cooling Center operates when the National Weather Service issues a heat advisory. Residents who need relief from the heat are encouraged to take shelter at the Cooling center and enjoy a cool drink. Although the Emergency Cooling Center typically opertes during the majority of the day when temperatures are highest, we do not necessarily provide overnight shelter as temperatures are usually cooler during the overnight hours.

Our Emergency Cooling Center operates in the lobby area of our main building located at 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway in Springfield, Missouri.
