You are in: Thrift Store and In-Kind Donations
To many people, The Salvation Army is the place where they donate used clothing and household items. It's a great way to recycle goods that can be used by someone in need. The Salvation Army collects usable items of all types. The Centers also process and sell some recyclable materials.
The Salvation Army Family Thrift Store serves multiple roles for the Emmet, Charlevoix, and Antrim county communities.
For many, it provides a convenient outlet for clothing and household items no longer needed, but which are in too good a condition to discard. For some, the Thrift Store is known as a place to pick up some off-beat apparel and retro-look items.
But, for others, it serves as a precious resource for obtaining clothing and household items which they might otherwise be unable to afford.
The Family Thrift Store, at 1615 Clarion Ave in Petoskey, has a wide variety of merchandise including furniture, available for purchase by the community at large. Prices are marked on items, using a color-coding system which permits periodic reductions in price until an item is sold. And, The Salvation Army provides purchase vouchers for use at the store for individuals and families in need.
Clothing, household items and furnishings can be donated at the store. Pick-up can be arranged for larger items by calling the Thrift Store at (231) 347-8500.
