The Salvation Army of Plymouth offers Tiny Tots Preschool. We have classes for 3, 4, and 5 year olds from September through May. The classes for Fall 2012 are as follows:
- 3 year olds: Tuesday/Thursday ~ 8:45 to 11:00 am
- 4 years olds: Monday/Wednesday/Friday ~ 8:45 to 11:15 am
- 4 1/2 - 5 years olds: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday ~ 11:45 am to 2:15 pm
Our Philosophy of Preschool Learning
We would like to start off by saying we believe every child is a gift, and the preschool years are truly impressionable. Your preschooler wants to learn and is ready to learn. We believe preschool education should be age appropriate, and it should address the child's developmental needs in the following areas: Social, Emotional, Physical, Cognitive, Spiritual. Our classroom is divided into activity areas; such as blocks, dramatic play, a house center, games, puzzles, and manipulative items, art, library, science center, and a gym. We are licensed by the State of Michigan.
Tuition: Our Tuesday/Thursday classes have a monthly tuition of $100.00. Our Monday/Wednesday/Friday classes have a monthly tuition of $135.00. Tuition is due on the first school day of every month. There is no tuition due for the month of December.
School Calendar: The first days of school will be September 6 and September 7, 2012, depending on which class. Parents come and leave with their children on the first day and class will only be one hour. Our last day of school will be May 24, 2013. We will follow the Plymouth/Canton School District calendar. We do however, take an extra week off at Christmas. If the school district cancels school because of a snow day, so do we. We do not cancel school because of half days.
Prerequisites:
Age: To enter our preschool, children should be born on or before December 1, 2009.
Potty-Trained: All students must be fully potty-trained and able to use the restroom on their own. Children should be in underwear and not pull-ups.
Health Physical & Immunizations: Children are required to have a recent physical form on file. This includes being up to date on immunizations.
Co-op/Snack: Tiny Tots Preschool is a co-op. We ask that you provide a snack for the whole class on your child's leader day. Your child will be leader 1 to 2 times a month. We also ask that you stay and help us on your child's leader day. It is nice to sign up for leader day around your child's Birthday, and a Birthday treat is fine to bring in.
Field Trips: There will be one field trip a month. Children need to be accompanied by a parent or another caretaker. We usually meet on site of trip destination. Field trips are completely optional, but always a lot of fun!
Registration: If you wish to hold a spot for your child in our fall preschool classes, please complete the registration form and attach the $35 registration fee (exact cash or check made out to The Salvation Army). A packet with all of the necessary paperwork will be mailed to your home prior to the start of classes. In the packet, you will find paperwork concerning a background check. Please note that The Salvation Army requires background checks for all adults working with children.
