The Family & Community Ministries Department of The Salvation Army in Plymouth works to meet the needs of people in our community. We have several programs within this department. Brief descriptions of these programs are provided below. Appointments are required. Please call 734-453-5464 to schedule an appointment.
Eligibility Requirements:
- In order to be eligible for these services you must provide a picture ID and reside in one of the following zip codes: 48111, 48167, 48168, 48170, 48187, 48188
- You must present proof of household income
- You must present ID for all members of the household (Driver's license/state ID for adults, birth certificates, school ID, etc for children)
Food Assistance
The Salvation Army has a food pantry that is stocked with donations from the community. We provide canned & dry goods for families in need of food.
Utility Assistance
The Salvation Army provides utility assistance for families with electricity or gas shutoff notices, as funding is available. Those seeking assistance must first apply at the DHS for the state emergency relief fund and receive a decision letter.
Rent/Eviction Assistance
The Salvation Army provides rental assistance to families who have a court ordered eviction notice, as funding is available. Those seeking assistance must first apply at the DHS for the state emergency relief fund and receive a decision letter.
Holiday/Seasonal Assistance
The Salvation Army provides assistance for low income families or families with a sudden loss of income. We are able to provide school supplies at the beginning of the school year, Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets, and Food Baskets and Toys for children at Christmas.
