The Salvation Army's Social Services encompass a wide range of programs to help individuals and families overcome daunting obstacles. We strive to empower people and to enable those in need to change their circumstances and overcome the challenges that stand in their way.
The Rochester, Minnesota Salvation Army provides a wide range of services to the residents of Olmsted County. Services are provided without discrimination. General inquiries can be made at 20 First AVE NE, Rochester, MN or by calling 507-288-3663 (Mon-Fri; 8AM-4PM).
Our services include:
Supplemental Food Shelf -- Tuesday's & Friday's, 10AM to 4PM. Households register and then can access supplemental food once per month. This service is an extension of the Channel One Food Bank. The program is located at 120 First Street NE.
Emergency Assistance -- Rent/Utilities/Clothing/Household/Other-- Monday through Friday 8AM-4PM (closed Wednesdays). No appointments are needed. Persons are seen on a first come, first served basis and should bring an I.D. The thrift store "voucher program" is only offered in the mornings from 8-11AM.
Noon Meal Program -- Monday through Friday, Noon to 12:45PM. Open to anyone needing a meal.
Evening Meal Program -- Monday & Friday nights at 6:00PM. All are invited.
Bread Distribution -- Monday through Friday, 8AM until gone. Day old bread and pastries from local grocery stores and bakeries are put out for whoever needs them. Please limit your selections to no more than three items per person, per day.
Caring Partners Adult Day Program -- Mon-Fri, 8AM-4PM. Call 288-5191 for more information.
Housing Services -- Supportive, single-family housing, as well as single-person apartments with supportive services are located throughout Rochester. Call 507-288-3663 for information.
Good Samaritan Medical Clinic -- A number of free services are available Mon-Thursday evenings for Olmsted County residents without medical insurance. Call ahead to schedule an appointment. For prescriptions, a $5.00 fee is collected from those able to pay. Specialty clinics are offered throughout the week, as well as a PEDS/Family Clinic on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The clinic is located at 120 N. Broadway, Suite B and can be reached at 507-529-4100.
Good Samaritan Dental Clinic -- Call 507-529-4100 for an appointment. Services are offered throughout the week. The clinic is for Olmsted County residents with acute pain and who are on a public insurance plan or have no insurance.
Youth Character building programs and Music programs -- Various programs are offered. Call 507-288-3663 for more information.

Winona & Red Wing Thrift Stores -- Mon-Fri (9AM-6PM); Saturday (9AM-5PM)
