About Us

"Thanks for helping us out when money was tight.  We really appreciate it." -- Ben, 7

Whether it's help we're offering in a disaster or comfort for a family in need-hope and healing is the message of The Salvation Army.  Since 1886, The Salvation Army has been providing social and spiritual services to communities throughout Minnesota and North Dakota.  People given purpose, hearts given hope and souls finding redemption-this has been our mission for more than a century.

Mission Statement
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church.  Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Rochester, MN Vision
We envision a corps that "intentionally" develops a Christ-centered environment where members of the community, our employees and volunteers can find a sense of belonging, opportunities for meaningful service and a place that encourages spiritual growth.

Financial Accountability:
The Salvation Army relies on community support to provide hundreds of programs and services to those in need.  In fact, The Salvation Army receives more financial support from the general public than any other charity in America.  We are grateful for this outpouring of trust and are committed to the highest standards of stewardship.  The Salvation Army Northern Division meets all Charities Review Council Standards. All gifts are used in the donor's region unless the donor requests otherwise.  Donors may designate their gifts to specific programs or areas and we always respect those wishes.
