The Facility
Now located at 1125 North 13th Street in Sheboygan, our day care serves children 6 weeks to 12 years old. The facility has two infants rooms, a toddler room, a preschool room, and a school-age room. Each room has an adjoining rest room. Nutritious meals and snacks are provided. The facility houses a fully stocked in-house library. Three separate outdoor play areas with various outdoor play equipment cater to the different age groups.
Equipment
Each room has child size furniture appropriate to the age of the child. Chairs and tables are accessible near shelves for children to choose toys of interest. The shelves are child height and filled with toys to excite and teach. Toys are rotated often to keep the children's interest. Toys are sanitized regularly.
Daily Schedule
Each classroom has a schedule appropriate to the children's age. There are alternating active and quiet times as well as child initiated and teacher led. Younger children are offered a rest time in the afternoon. All classes offer outside playtime daily weather permitting.
Outdoor Play
Our play yard offers equipment for all age groups. There are bikes, monkey bars, slides, climbers, and a sandbox. The infants and toddlers play with Little Tike structures like the Tree House.
Food Program
We offer meals and snacks that are in line with the CACFP. All meals and snacks are prepared on site. A weekly menu is posted at the sign-in counter for parent review.
Discipline
Discipline is handled in a positive manner with the understanding that children are continually learning appropriate ways to interact with their peers. Guidance techniques include: giving children choices, using positive statements to give directions and suggestions, redirecting activity, active problem-solving with the child, reinforcing what children do appropriately, and helping the child find acceptable ways of expressing strong feelings.
Curriculum
Our program uses the Creative Curriculum by Diane Tristan-Dodge. Each classroom is set up with interest centers to encourage children to explore and learn. Math & Manipulatives, Science, Art, Writing & Fine Motor, Music, Dramatic Play, Library, Computer, and Blocks are some of the centers used. Themes are used by teachers connect centers and activities. Each child's learning style is unique, knowing this teachers offer many opportunities for learning using different teaching methods to meet all children's needs.
Every Child Is Special
We know how important good, dependable child care is to you. Selecting a child care provider is one of the most important decisions facing parents today. This is especially true when selecting care for infants and toddlers, since new research indicates that the care a child receives during the first three years of life can impact that child forever. Whether your child visits with us for a few hours, a full day or enrolls in our full-time care, you can be sure that we will provide the love, nurturing and guidance they need to feel happy, safe and secure.
Staffing
All staff meets the standards of the State of Wisconsin Licensing Board. Our Director has a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education working towards her master's degree and holds a level 14 in the Registry.
