Eastern Europe Territory
The Salvation Army in Eastern Europe Territory has been supporting needy children through sponsorship since the work was re-established in the 1990’s. The sponsorship program extends into the regions of Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Romania & Russia. Over the years many sponsors have given faithfully to contribute to the financial needs of a large number of children. In the immediate post Soviet era as communities struggle to survive, the value of sponsorship could not be underestimated. Today the picture is still one that shows a country of very poor people particularly as you move out from the larger cities. There still is a great need to support children and families who are very poor.
In order to make the greatest impact on changing lives and spreading the gospel message the Sponsorship Program in Eastern Europe has restructured their Sponsorship Program so that when you become a sponsor you are a sponsor of ALL the children's centers Eastern Europe - so that the centers most in need will have their needs met immediately. These centers provide an important link in nurturing and impacting the lives of many children from the poor communities in which The Salvation Army work, and they are all in need of support.
