Get Involved - Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for The Salvation Army. Volunteers truly are integral to The Salvation Army's effectiveness. The ways that you can help are innumerable and astonishingly diverse. Possibilities range from behind the scenes clerical duties to teaching English as a second language, from sorting items at a thrift store or food pantry to supervising children's athletic programs.

Volunteering is simple! The Salvation Army offers many volunteer opportunities in Washtenaw County.

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 4:00pm.  If you are unable to work within these time parameters, we suggest you seek out other volunteer organizations.

If you are inquiring about earning Community Service hours you must contact the Ann Arbor Corps prior to signing up for hours, as all community service documentation must be completed and you must complete a background check before volunteering.

If you are under 18 years of age, your legal guardian must complete the Parental Consent Form and Release of Liability form; furthermore, we are only accepting volunteers age 16 and up.

Once the completed paperwork is submitted to our Headquarters, the background check is completed and approved, you may begin earning community service hours.

We schedule individuals for community service based on the need for help within the Ann Arbor Corps.  We can not guarantee that there will be an opportunity to complete mandatory community service, and if this is the case we suggest you seek out additional community service opportunities within the community.
