
Debbie Beier has been volunteering in our kitchen once a week for almost a year. From soup to nuts to chopping onions and carrots and opening cans, Debbie helps out in whatever prep work is needed for the Community Meal.
After looking at a few other agencies for volunteer work, Debbie says the Salvation Army "fits." "It just feels like home," she says. Debbie's favorite part about volunteering is learning how to cook in mass proportions and interacting with Judy the cook and the other volunteers. She loves having the opportunity to meet a wide variety of different types of people that she might not meet in everyday life.
