Will you join us?
Bell ringing is a unique way to experience the spirit of the season and helping others at Christmas through the work of The Salvation Army. Sparing a couple hours of your time to help those less fortunate in Marathon County is a great way to give back and get into the holiday spirit!
The funds raised in The Salvation Army's red kettle goes directly back into our community. These funds help to provide food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, heat for the cold, and much more.
According to legend, an angel appears at the sound of a bell. And at the sound of a Salvation Army kettle bell, angels appear to support our work with children, homeless people, the lonely and the needy.

There are 25 different locations that we have red kettles at in the Wausau, Rothschild, Schofield, Rib Mountain and Weston areas. Our Red Kettle Campaign starts November 8 and runs through December 24. We ring Mondays through Saturdays. We do not ring on Sundays or Thanksgiving Day. There are few changes in the bell ringing schedule this year. We will ring from Noon to 8 pm at most locations and from 10 am to 8 pm at a few locations. If you would like to volunteer, there is a minimum of a two hour shift. You may split those two hours with a friend if you'd like. No more than 5 people at one kettle. Any more than that gets too crowded. If you have a large group, please consider taking more than one location or an entire day and break it into shifts within your group.
If you would like to make angels appear, please contact our Kettle Coordinator by calling: 845-4272.
Thank you and may you have a Blessed holiday season.
God bless you and your family this Christmas season!
