The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible; Its ministry is motivated by the love for God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in his name without discrimination.
Our Local Mission
The Salvation Army is a spiritual community that fosters improved self-sufficiency and leads by example. We promote the well-being of all who come to us, including those who are unable to meet their basic needs of be self sufficient. We coordinate a comprehensive array of emergency services to meet basic needs (food, shelter, clothing, and spiritual) and other support services as our resources allow. It is our commitment to direct those in need to the most appropriate program or service available, whether offered by The Salvation Army or another agency or provider.
The Salvation Army is an international, charitable, religious organization operating in 107 countries. It exists "to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination." In the United States, The Salvation Army serves people in need in every zip code through 9,600 centers of operation. Last year, 32 million people in this country received service from Salvation Army professionals and volunteers.
